Tuesday Evening Weather Update; October 20, 2020
TONIGHT: Mainly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop to the middle 30°s. Lincoln Low Temperature: 37°
WEDNESDAY: Temperatures slowly rise under partly sunny skies. Temperatures will reach the low 50°s. Scattered showers will begin to move in, especially southeast of a line from Lincoln to Fairbury, by mid-afternoon. Showers will be possible through the rest of the night. Lincoln High Temperature: 52°
THURSDAY COLD FRONT
A cold front will swing through southeast Nebraska Thursday evening. Ahead of the front, temperatures will climb to the middle 70°s to near 80°. North and west of the front temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40°s and 50°s. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible, especially ahead of the front.
Once the front passes, winds will become strong – gusting 45+ mph – and shift out of the northwest. Temperatures will also begin to drop. Most of the area should be in the 30°s by Friday morning and high temperatures Friday should only be in the mid-40°s.
