Twin red panda cubs born at Lincoln Children’s Zoo
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Children’s Zoo on Wednesday announced the birth of twin red panda cubs.
In a Facebook post, officials said William and Robin were born at the zoo on June 25, and they are “healthy and thriving.”
“This birth is incredibly important to animal conservation efforts because red pandas are an endangered species that face a very high risk of extinction in the wild,” the zoo said.
The cubs and their mother, Tián, are currently behind the scenes in nest boxes to replicate the conditions red pandas would make in the wild.
The zoo said visitors will be able to see William and Robin sometime this fall.
