Bodies Found In Eagle Ruled Murder-Suicide

The Cass County Sheriff's Office are investigating the deaths of two individuals at 2081 N 226 St., rural Eagle. The deaths were discovered after Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check Friday afternoon.  The bodies were identified as 35 year old Steven G. Wright of Eagle and 35 year old Jamie L. Korbelik-Gibson of Lincoln. 

Gibson was last seen on Thursday, at about 3:30 p.m. leaving her Lincoln apartment. Wright is reported to have had a phone conversation from his residence with a family member at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The investigation determined the couple has been involved in an intermittent relationship, occasionally involving domestic violence for several years.  The investigation rules domestic violence was involved resulting in the death of Gibson via suffocation at the hands of Wright. Wright subsequently hung himself at the residence shortly after.   The investigation is on going.
