Two boys rescued from icy western Nebraska lake
The boys were sent to a local hospital where they were treated and released.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two 12-year-old boys were saved Tuesday by authorities after they fell through thin ice at Lake Minatare near Scottsbluff.
The two boys were walking across the dam to the swim beach area and onto the ice, according to Dan Kling, a Nebraska Game and Parks officer.
The boys then fell through the ice and began to cry for help. The adults who were with them called 911.
Authorities arrived and got the boys out of the lake. They were rescued by members of the Minatare Fire, Rescue and Dive Team.
The boys were then sent to the Regional West Medical Center where they were treated and released.
Nebraska State Patrol, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Valley Ambulance Service and Air Link Helicopter Service also assisted at the scene.
Kling reminds visitors to use extreme caution on lakes with thin ice.
