Two buildings destroyed in fire at rural Nebraska lake

Shooting arrest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two buildings were destroyed early Saturday morning in a fire in rural Gosper County.

The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office said volunteer fire crews were sent around 1:20 a.m. to a home at Johnson Lake near Lexington.

When crews arrived, the home was “engulfed” in flames, according to the sheriff’s office.  The fire then spread to a nearby home.

Both homes are considered a total loss, the sheriff’s office said.  It’s unknown what caused the fire, and an investigation is ongoing.

Paramedics helped the victims, who suffered minor injuries in the fire.
