Two caught after hiding from deputies in northeast Nebraska, sheriff’s office says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were caught Tuesday after they tried evading arrest in northeast Nebraska, the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office says.
Around 10 p.m., deputies tried serving arrest warrants for Daniel Emken, 27, and Natasha Vanness-Hauf, 27, at a trailer park near Norfolk.
Both were wanted for theft in Madison County, according to the sheriff’s office. Vanness-Hauf was also wanted for felony forgery in Stanton County.
During an encounter, Emken ran away and hid under the steps of another trailer, the sheriff’s office said.
He was taken into custody shortly after and additionally charged with obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest.
A deputy suffered a leg injury during Emken’s arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.
Vanness-Hauf was not at the trailer park, but deputies later found her at a home south of Norfolk.
She was arrested after deputies found her hiding under a pile of laundry, the sheriff’s office said.
Vanness-Hauf was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
