Two children injured, one seriously, in crash with FedEx truck east of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two children were injured in a three-vehicle crash east of Lincoln on Friday evening.

The crash was reported about 5:40 p.m. at 148th Street and Old Cheney Road.

A Honda Pilot was going north on 148th waiting to turn left onto Old Cheney when it was rear-ended by a FedEx truck, authorities said.

The impact sent the Pilot into the path of a southbound Jeep Cherokee, and the two SUVs collided, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said two children in the Pilot were taken to a hospital. At least one of them had serious injuries.

Two adults were also in the Pilot. It was not clear whether they were injured.

The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said the driver of the FedEx truck was not injured.
