Two gorillas that have been in Lincoln for nearly 20 years are for sale

Have you ever thought about buying a couple of gorillas?

“it’s actually a lot of responsibility, you have to groom them and you have to put them to bed at night and you should read them a bed time story, they’ll like that,” said Gary Mayo.

Mayo owns Guns 2 Roses which is located near North 1st and O street. He is closing his doors and wants to sell his two concrete filled gorillas.

They’ve been in Lincoln for nearly 20 years at different locations.

“They’ve had a pretty glorious history, people like to paint them and people like to sign there names to them,” said Mayo.

The two gorilla’s each weigh 4300 pounds. Mayo is asking $500 a piece.

He told Channel 8 Eyewitness News that within a few days of posting them for sale, he received a few calls of interest.

If you are wondering about transporting them, Mayo knows a friend who works at a towing company and will deliver them for free.
