Two injured in crash with semi-truck in southwest Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were hospitalized after a crash with a semitrailer-truck in southwest Nebraska on Wednesday.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of West J Street and U.S. Highway 83 in McCook.

McCook Police said a semi was heading north on U.S. Highway 83 when it struck the passenger side of an SUV.

The rear wheels of the trailer drove over the top of the SUV’s hood, according to police.

The occupants of the SUV – an 86-year-old man and a woman – were taken to a local hospital.

Police said the man was later flown to another hospital for treatment.  The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old man, was not injured.
