LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were injured Monday afternoon in a crash with a tractor in rural Chase County.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 61 near County Road 744, just north of Imperial.

A Chevy Avalanche was heading south on Highway 61 when it rear-ended a tractor, the Chase County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver and passenger of the Chevy were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Chevy’s driver was given a ticket for driving under suspension. An investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be filed, the sheriff’s office said.
