Two injured in head-on crash near North Platte

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A head-on crash in Lincoln County on Sunday sent two drivers to a hospital and closed Highway 30 for about an hour.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. just west of North Platte.

A Nissan was heading east when it crossed the center line while going around a curve.  The car then struck a Chevrolet pickup, totaling both vehicles.

The sheriff’s office says the Nissan’s driver, a juvenile, was thought to be having a medical emergency, which caused the crash.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
