Two injured, one critically, in UTV crash on west Lincoln overpass

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people were injured Thursday night in a crash on an overpass in west Lincoln.

The crash was reported about 9:45 p.m. on the Northwest 27th Street bridge over Interstate 80.

Police said a northbound utility vehicle hit a parked vehicle on the west side of the overpass, then crossed lanes, hitting a guardrail on the east side.

The driver of the UTV, a 38-year-old Lincoln man, was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

His passenger was also hospitalized and is stable, police said.

A Channel 8 reporter at the scene said several people had parked on the bridge to watch fireworks.

The Lincoln Police Department said the crash is under investigation.
