Two killed, one hospitalized in crash on Highway 77 south of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people were killed and one was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash south of Lincoln on Wednesday.

Just before 4 p.m., several first responders were sent to the intersection of Highway 77 and West Hallam Road, between Princeton and Cortland.

According to Capt. John Vik with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, a northbound Ford F-150 collided with a westbound Buick sedan at the intersection.

Vik said the driver and passenger in the Buick were killed in the crash. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at a local hospital, according to Vik.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital in Lincoln with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vik said Highway 77 will remain closed during the investigation of the crash.

Hallam Road and Firth Road are also closed in both directions.
