Two Lincoln road closures set for Wednesday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An intersection in south Lincoln and a stretch of 40th Street will be closed beginning on Wednesday.
The intersection of 52nd Street and Pioneers Boulevard will be closed for a water main replacement project.
Pioneers Boulevard’s north sidewalk and StarTran Route 53-SouthPointe bus stops will be closed.
Drivers are asked to take 48th Street to Highway 2 to 56th Street as an alternate route.
City officials say the project will be finished by early July.
A portion of 40th Street between Rokeby and Saltillo Roads are also set to close on Wednesday. They will be closed for the Lincoln on the Move street improvement project.
Access to 40th Street will be closed as crews work.
City officials suggest that drivers use Yankee Hill Road to 27th Street to Saltillo Road as an alternate route.
The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-November.
Digital signs will be placed to alert drivers to the upcoming closures.
