Two Lincoln road closures start Monday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Parts of two Lincoln streets will close on Monday.

Q Street will be closed from Ninth to 10th Streets for crane removal, city officials said.

Sidewalks in the area will also be closed.

The city recommends that you take 10th to S Street to Ninth as a detour.

If you park in the Market Place Garage, you’ll have to exit at 10th and Q and go north on 10th.

The road is expected to reopen on June 23.

The city is also closing 84th Street from O Street to College Park Road for its next phase of work on the road.

The improvements, part of the Lincoln on the Move project, include concrete repairs and new pavement markings.

The recommended detour is 84th to Holdrege Street to 98th Street to O.

The work is scheduled to be done by July 10.

Digitial signs will alert drivers to the upcoming closures.

The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department said in a press release that project completion dates could be delayed by weather and other “unforeseen circumstances.”
