Two Lincoln students win state writing competition
The three winners will receive award certificates signed by Gov. Pete Ricketts at a proclamation signing ceremony on April 4.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two students from Lincoln have won an annual state writing competition.
Students across the state competed in the 23rd annual Letters About Literature competition.
Madison Mittelstet and Hugh Skretta of Lincoln and Carolin Ahsan of Omaha won this year’s competition.
The three winners will receive award certificates signed by Gov. Pete Ricketts at a proclamation signing ceremony on April 4.
The Letters About Literature competition encourages students to read, be inspired, and write back to the author (living or dead) who had an impact on their lives, according to the press release.
The contest is sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book, Nebraska Library Commission, Houchen Bindery Ltd., Humanities Nebraska and Chapters Bookstore in Seward.
