Two more COVID-19 deaths reported in Lancaster County

LLCHD reported the deaths of a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s who were both hospitalized and vaccinated.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported two more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday.

LLCHD reported the deaths of a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s who were both hospitalized and vaccinated.

According to LLCHD, 44 COVID-19 cases were also reported.

Local hospitals currently house 52 COVID-19 patients, 35 from Lancaster County, with one on a ventilator.

On Tuesday, Health Director Pat Lopez announced that the risk dial will be moving into the low orange category.  This is the first time Lancaster County has been in low orange since Nov. 9.

Lopez also announced the distribution of free at-home COVID-19 tests.  Testing kits are now available in the main lobby of LLCHD at 3131 O Street.
