Two more deaths caused by West Nile in Nebraska

Two more people have died from West Nile Virus-both in Douglas County.

Six total Nebraskans have now died from the illness.

The state has seen a nationwide high 52 case of West Nile this year.

The Douglas County Health Dept. says they’re seeing nearly three-times as many mosquitoes with the virus than they did last year.

Even with a nation-high number of cases, it’s possible there are more out there.

Only 20 percent of those infected develop symptoms.

September can be the peak of mosquito season.
