Two separate counterfeit money cases being investigated by LPD

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is investigating two separate counterfeit money cases that happened over the weekend.
On Thursday, officers were called to a Casey’s near 40th and Adams streets just after 9 a.m. where an employee had a fake $100 bill.
The bill had the words ‘For Motion Picture Copy Money’ printed on it, LPD said.
According to the employee, the bill had been used the previous night.
After watching the security video, officers said they saw a 20 to 25-year-old male with a black jacket, grey shirt, and slicked back hair use the money.
On Friday, officers were called to a home near 51st and J streets just before noon.
The victim said she was having a garage sale when a male and female, both around 30 to 40 years old, arrived.
She said that male paid for $5 worth of goods with a $20 bill, not realizing it was fake.
According to the police, the female attempted to buy something with another $20 bill, but the victim noticed ‘In Props We Trust’ printed on it.
The victim said they couldn’t use this money to pay and the female took back both bills.
They were last seen driving away in a black Chevy Z71 pickup, according to LPD.
The investigation with both these crimes is still ongoing.
