Two seriously injured in head-on crash on eastern Nebraska highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were seriously injured in a crash Sunday in eastern Nebraska, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office says.

The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Highway 75 in Plattsmouth.

A Toyota Yaris was going north when it crossed the center line and crashed into a southbound Toyota Corolla.

The drivers of both vehicles were extricated and taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office said that alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash and that charges are pending.

Highway 75 from Highway 66 to Osage Ranch Road was closed for about two hours during the investigation.
