Two teens arrested after running from officers in east Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two teens were caught Thursday after officers served a search warrant at a home in east Lincoln, police say.
Around 2:50 p.m., officers were searching a home near 41st Street and Huntington Avenue when a vehicle pulled up outside.
Police said an 18-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy got out of the vehicle and ran away.
Officers quickly caught one and chased the other through a part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus.
The Lincoln Police Department said both teens were unarmed.
A Nebraska State Patrol helicopter helped officers during the pursuit.
The 18-year-old was caught near 39th Street and East Campus Loop around 3:20 p.m.
Officers later found 16.2 grams of methamphetamines, 75.4 grams of marijuana and 21 suspected LSD tablets, police said.
The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of several felony drug charges. The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
