Two-vehicle crash blocks off South 9th and M Street

Lincoln Police responded to a two-car accident near 9th Street on Thursday afternoon.

Lincoln, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police responded to a two-vehicle crash near South 9th and M Street around 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Witnesses told LPD one vehicle was going eastbound on M Street, and the other vehicle was going southbound on 9th Street. According to witnesses, the southbound light was red. The two cars collided.

Authorities say each vehicle was occupied by only the driver. Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals. LPD says each individual’s injuries are non-life threatening.

“It doesn’t appear it’s anything too serious,” said sergeant Michelle Jochum. “It’s  probably just a normal accident.”

LPD has opened back up the streets for travel.
