Two vehicles crash in central Nebraska, causing one to catch fire

LINCOLN Neb. (KLKN) – One driver was ticketed Wednesday after a fiery crash in central Nebraska.

The crash happened about 2:50 p.m. at Highway 14 and L Road in Merrick County.

A woman from Polk County was driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee north on the highway when she struck the rear end of a 2023 Ford F150.

The driver of the pickup, a Madison County man, was stopped, waiting for another vehicle to turn on L Road when he was hit.

According to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

There are no reported injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was issued a citation.
