Two Waco firefighters released from hospital, one preparing for surgery

Waco firefighters inching toward recovery following a crash that sent several of them to the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The Waco Fire Department said of the three firefighters who were hospitalized for a longer stay, two of them are now recovering at home.
They say they’re doing well and continue down the road to full recovery.
They also said one firefighter is in the hospital, and is scheduled to have surgery this week.
Officials said the initial crash happened on Sunday afternoon when one of their ambulances was struck on I-80 as they were responding to multiple crashes.
They said there were six members in the ambulance when it was struck.
Two were evaluated and did not receive treatment.
Four were taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Of those four, two were released Saturday night.
The other two were transferred to a trauma unit for treatment.
One had surgery on Sunday that was successful.
