Tyler Goodrich’s family rode emotional ‘roller coaster’ amid news of dead body

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — After a body was found in a creek near Waverly on Saturday, the family of Tyler Goodrich was among the first to know.

Tyler’s father, Lonnie Goodrich, said he received a text message when deputies found a dead body near 134th Street and Mill Road.

They gave him the news but told him that it was unlikely the body was Tyler’s.

“The possibility that it could be Tyler, that closure could be confirmed, and then finding out it isn’t, you go through this crazy roller coaster and hold different forms of grief,” Lonnie said.

Investigators have said his husband, Marshall Vogel, is not a suspect in his disappearance.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office and Vogel’s attorney said Vogel had passed a polygraph.

Lonnie said he’s praying for Jones’ family.

“I pray that finding this body brings a measure of closure to his family,” Lonnie said.
