NU Board of Regents approves alcohol sales for Volleyball Day in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Alcohol will be served at Nebraska volleyball’s match in Memorial Stadium.

On Thursday, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents voted to approve alcohol sales at the event, which takes place on Aug. 30.

Over 90,000 tickets have been sold for the match, in which Nebraska will face UNO on Tom Osborne Field.

The largest crowd for any women’s sporting event in the United States was 90,185 for the 1999 World Cup final between USA and China.

Country music artist Scotty McCreery will perform after the match.

This isn’t the first time alcohol has been sold in Memorial Stadium.  In 2021, alcohol was served at the Garth Brooks concert.

Last year, the Board of Regents approved alcohol sales for Nebraska basketball games at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
