Underage girls report sexual assaults at a Nebraska Walmart and a party with cocaine

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police are investigating reported sexual assaults involving underage girls at a Nebraska Walmart and a party with cocaine.

The Grand Island Police Department says it received two reports over the weekend from a 12-year-old and a 17-year-old.

The younger girl told authorities she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male in the bathroom of the city’s north Walmart.

She said the attack happened between April 15 and May 15.  Police haven’t provided a description of the attacker.

On Saturday, officers were called to the Ramada Inn, where several people detained a man accused of sexually assaulting the 17-year-old at a party.

The girl says she was attacked inside a Grand Island residence after telling Gerald Binfield that she wasn’t interested several times.

She also said she felt impaired before the assault, as she had been drinking and doing cocaine, which Binfield provided.

Police said they found a small baggy sticking out of one of his pockets, which later tested positive for cocaine.
