University of Nebraska Lincoln unveiled a veterans tribute on campus

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln had its own dedication on 9/11 at its veterans’ tribute on campus.
The ceremony was held at the Pershing Military and Naval science building on city campus.
The veterans’ tribute is a project funded by private donations to provide those walking on campus a space to reflect in an area along vine street stretching from the Pershing building to all the way to the coliseum.
The tribute features panels with quotes from veterans and family members to help people remember those who have served.
“This is a tribute to those willing to sacrifice for something larger than themselves, and a space to reflect how different our lives might be, if not for their courage,” said Ronnie Green, UNL Chancellor.
The tribute space includes trees, seating, and a new flag plaza.
The almost $4,000,000 project included the installment of plaques inside Memorial Stadium, honoring students who served in WW1.
