UNL enrollment 15-year high

Estimated fall enrollment at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is at a 15-year high of more than 24,600 students. University officials released the figures on Friday and said the enrollment comes even as the number of high school graduates in Nebraska and neighboring states declines.

There are nearly 19,400 undergraduate students enrolled, an increase of more than 2 percent over last year. The number of graduate students and those in professional programs also increased. The number of college newcomers,  first-time freshmen,  also jumped, by almost 3 percent.

Dean of Admissions Alan Cerveny says the fact that enrollment is increasing is a sign that UNL has a good national reputation.
