Jeff Raikes and Microsoft CEO speak with UNL students, Lincoln business leaders

The Raikes School of Computer Science and Management students got to watch alongside many Lincoln business owners, a conversation between Jeff Raikes and current Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

They spoke about what to do and not do in the tech business, and reminiscing about past stories.

“I had a chance to for Jeff, there are things that I still remember, there is not a person I met who was so meticulous. One of my nightmares was to go to a one on one with Jeff because I would always a thing, my god he’s going to know everything I’ve committed to,” Satya Nadella the Microsoft CEO said.

This was just a part of the celebration of 150 years of the University of Nebraska.

Satya spent the day going through the capital city meeting with startup owners.

“To me, it energizes me to see how people are passionate about not only what they are doing but also the paces they belong to,” Nadella said.

But it wasn’t just meeting with students and business professionals throughout Lincoln, they got to drive around and enjoy the sights.

“On the way here, Satya noticed that in the stadium the last time we won a national championship was 1997, and he said, ‘it’s been kind of a while,’” Jeff Raikes the Former Microsoft President said.

For Chancellor Green, he was just very happy to provide students with such a great learning opportunity.

“Certainly the learning and the opportunity to interact with someone like Mr. Nadella is a huge learning opportunity for our students,” Ronnie Green the UNL Chancellor said.
