UNL reports over a hundred COVID-19 cases

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Thursday evening, around 5:30, the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) released their campus’ COVID-19 data. They reported 107 positive cases of COVID-19, confirmed by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.

This comes after two campus sororities, Kappa Alpha Theta and Delta Delta Delta, reported multiple cases of coronavirus. Both chapters have since quarantined.

The UNL Chancellor’s Office released a statement saying, “I wish we had no cases on our campus, I know that is not realistic… we can help keep our numbers to a low level where they can be mitigated. It will take all of us being diligent, each and every day.”

UNL plans to report their latest numbers weekly in their Nebraska Today newsletter. They also have a UNL COVID-19 Dashboard active.
