UNL’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts

The Johnny Carson center on UNL’s campus is up and running.

Today was it’s official dedication after a weekend of events celebrating the first year of the program.

Less than five years ago, $20,000,000 was donated by the Johnny Carson foundation.

Students at UNL say they are excited about the official opening.

“It just allows you to use your own creativity to come up with new projects. I think it will be a great way to innovate myself,” Film and Emerging Media student, Eluiteria Castro said. 

Carson conversation speakers were among those who discussed how business relates to emerging media arts.

UNL Emerging Media students say having a program like this in the Midwest is beneficial to Nebraska.
