Up to 70 gallons of fuel spills after driver hits hose at Lincoln gas station and leaves

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities now say that up to 70 gallons of fuel spilled at a Lincoln gas station after a driver hit a hose and took off.

This happened at the Kwik Shop near Touzalin Avenue and Fremont Street around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue said a fuel truck was filling the underground tank when a sedan smashed into the hose.

The driver kept on going while leaving a major mess, which crews spent about an hour cleaning up.

There are no additional details on the driver or their vehicle at this time.

LFR said the investigation is ongoing.
