UPDATE: 2-year-old Lincoln boy not expected to survive from injuries after near-drowning

Organizers of an online fundraiser to help the family of a Lincoln toddler who nearly drowned say his injuries are “way too big for his little body and he will not heal.” The update comes after a recent MRI.

According to the GoFundMe page, the family of 2-year-old Kayson has been with him at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, where he was taken after authorities say he was found in a pool at their home near 32nd and Potter Sunday evening.

Police said several adults were present but Kayson went unseen for a few minutes. No citations have been issued.

“Kayson’s MRI came back and it wasn’t good,” the page’s organizer wrote. “His injuries are way too big for his little body to heal from. He wont heal. There is no fixing him. This is killing me, and I wish it wasn’t happening. But it is. Our next step is to make him as comfortable as possible until he makes his way to heaven.”
