Lincoln Police have identified a body found in a unit at Big Red Storage as 28-year-old Kelsey Miller.

Since December 1st, family and friends of Kelsey Miller searched for answers to her disappearance.

“I wanna know where she is and what happened,” friend Stacie Ruiz said during a search on Sunday.

Miller was last seen the morning of November 27- Thanksgiving. Sunday night, the search came to a horrifying end. Her body was discovered inside a storage locker at Big Red Storage located near 70th and Cornhusker Highway. Police believe her husband, Kevin Michael Miller, killed her and hid her body.

“Kevin Miller has been arrested for second degree murder and the unlawful disposal of human remains,” Police Chief Jim Peschong said.

Miller was already facing strangulation charges. He was arrested last week after investigators learned of a possible assault. Court documents say an emergency shelter for domestic abuse victims contacted police. Kelsey sought help from them before she disappeared. The shelter reported bruises on her neck that Kelsey said came from her husband.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday, the person who found Kelsey’s body was asked by Kevin Miller to rent the storage locker. Police say that person reported the body to authorities around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Family members told me the entire situation is devastating. Sunday morning, some said they had a bad feeling from the start.

“Kelsey would not do that, Kelsey would not leave her children for this long without trying to get them,” Kelsey’s aunt Cathy Rozmiarek said on Sunday.

Kelsey’s friend Rachelle sent Channel 8 a Facebook message. She said, “we’d all hoped that this would have a different outcome, and that we would be hearing from her again. Now all we can do is help find justice for her.”

This case is Lincoln’s seventh murder of the year. Kelsey’s specific cause of death is still unknown pending the autopsy reports. Kevin Miller is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
