USDA investing millions in renewable energy in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska will be getting $21 million in grants through the Rural Energy for America Program, federal officials announced Thursday.

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development said the grants aim to help agricultural producers and small businesses access federal funds for renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements.

“The technical assistance grants will provide hands-on support to farmers, ranchers, and rural small business owners seeking federal funds for renewable energy systems, like wind and solar, and energy efficiency measures,” said Kate Bolz, director of USDA Rural Development’s Nebraska division.

Eligible recipients include government entities, colleges, electric cooperatives and nonprofit organizations.
