Valentine’s Day spending to reach record high

This year Valentine’s Day is expected to reach record numbers.

According to the National Retail Federation–the average person will spend about $162 on their significant other.

That means a record breaking total of $20.7 billion.

Men will do most spending at a little more than $229 and women around $100.

20 percent surveyed said they planned on getting a gift for there pet as well.

However, those celebrating the holiday is down four percent this year, according to the annual survey.
