Van stolen in burglary at auto repair shop in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating a Tuesday night burglary at an auto repair shop in north Lincoln.

Around 9:50 p.m., officers were sent to T.O. Haas near 27th Street and Folkways Boulevard for a security check.

Someone had entered the building by shattering a window, according to police.

The thief then took a Nissan van and drove it into the overhead garage door, police said.

Officers found the van near the business where it had left the road and got stuck.

Investigators think the burglar returned to the business and stole a GMC Savanna 2500 van, valued at $20,000, before leaving the area.

An investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
