Vandalism spree in northeast Lincoln

Melissa Baker was one of many Lincolnites who awoke to a disturbing and angering sight Wednesday.
Windshields all around her block were smashed in by vandals overnight.
“Feels like a personal attack,” Baker said. “Lots of emotions about it.”

Lincoln police said a string of calls started coming in at around 3:30 a.m. Many people awoke to find police cards on their broken windshields so they could call.
Still, it left a lot of people still searching for answers.

Witnesses said that two or three vandals were using baseball bats or golf clubs to cause the damage.
“I had to take the day off of work to get my windshield fixed,” Richard Ricketts said.
Baker said her insurance rates are going to go up, even though she wasn’t responsible for the damage. A lot of people who were impacted are having financial ramifications due to these crimes.
So far no arrests have been made.
