Vehicle thieves across Lincoln targeting Kia, Hyundai models, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is working to investigate a rash of vehicle thefts across the city.

In a press release, LPD said that 47 vehicle thefts have been reported between Sept. 20 and Thursday

Of those thefts, 19 were a Kia or Hyundai model.  Police said 17 attempted thefts were also reported.

So far, 31 cars have been recovered.

Police ask that Kia and Hyundai owners download the anti-theft protection software update for their vehicles.

People are asked to report any suspicious activity to police at 402-441-6000.
