Very mild on Monday; Rain likely on Tuesday
You could not ask for better weather on Monday. The clouds we saw on Sunday have departed, and we’re waking up to wall-to-wall sunshine on Monday morning. The sunshine sticks around all day long, and temperatures will be very warm. We’re forecasting highs in the upper-50s to low-60s, near 61° in Lincoln.
Sunshine and 60s will not stick around though, as clouds cover and scattered rain approach overnight Monday. It will be a very mild start on Tuesday morning, with morning lows perhaps in the low to mid-40s.
While rain should be scattered initially, it becomes a bit more widespread as the morning progresses on Tuesday. You will want to take the rain gear with you on Tuesday. Not surprisingly, temperatures will also back off a bit.
Some versions of Stormcast have suggested as little as a few tenths of an inch of rain on Tuesday, others have suggested as high as half an inch to three-quarters of an inch. The potential is there to see a healthy dose of rain, so hopefully, you’ll be able to see that come to fruition.
Rain chances start to taper off on Tuesday evening, and we’ll dry out for a little bit. By Wednesday afternoon or evening, precipitation chances increase once again as another system arrives from the west. This time, we’ll be cold enough for snow. Some of the snow could linger into Thursday.
Of course, this is still a few days away. We still have some time to iron out the finer details, but it’s something we’re keeping an eye on.
