VIDEO: 1 dead, 1 wounded after shooting at California fire department
AGUA DULCE, Calif. (ABC) — A firefighter is dead following a shooting at an Agua Dulce fire department, sources tell ABC News.
The suspect opened fire on the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) around 10:55 am Tuesday. They are believed to be a disgruntled employee, as reported by officials.
Two firefighters have been shot. A wounded firefighter was airlifted to a nearby hospital, while the other died on scene.
Immediately after the shooting, the suspect is believed to have fled to a home in Acton and barricade themselves inside. The home would later erupt in flames.
Firefighters were unable to initially attack the fire because of the apparent threat.
A man’s body was seen at the home, but whether that person was the deceased suspect was not immediately confirmed.
