Video Game Prodigy Will Take On International Competition

A local video game prodigy has been invited to take on some international competition. Last Summer, Channel 8 was the first to introduce you to Brice Mellen, a Lincoln teen who excels at playing video games, even though he's blind. His notoriety in the video game world has since spread throughout the country, including appearances on national TV. Now, he's being asked to take on competition overseas in Japan.   Mellen, who is known as the “Blind Gamer” is one of the most sought after video gamers to compete against in the whole world. It's amazing to watch him play, his skills with the contoller are unbelievable.  Without any sight at all, he manages to beat everyone that goes up against him, most of the time in under a minute.  Brice is so good in fact, that he's been invited to Japan to take on some of the country's greatest players. He'll be filmed during his trip overseas for a special TV series airing next month in Japan. A Japanese film crew from Tokyo even came all the way to Lincoln to film the competition their players will be going up against.  Brice has been playing video games since he was six, Mortal Combat has become his favorite game and he's beat the game so many times he lost count. The Japanese film crew says Japanese doctors would like monitor his brain waves while he's playing, to do a study on his amazing skills.
