ANN ARBOR, Mich. (ABC) — A 6-year-old was shot while playing outside in the Ypsilanti Township of Michigan Sunday.
It happened around 4:30 pm when the boy was playing with two of his young family members next to their neighbor’s home, said Washtenaw County Sheriff spokesman Derrick Jackson.
The neighbor, identified as 29-year-old Ryan Le-Nguyen, reportedly heard the commotion outside and told the kids to leave. Le-Nguyen then went back inside his house and fired a round through his window, striking the arm of the 6-year-old, said Jackson.
Authorities say the boy has non-life-threatening injuries. Nguyen was arrested for assault with intent to murder.
Nguyen was allowed to post a $10,000 bail, on the condition that he doesn’t return to his residence.
