Viva Las Vegas: Nebraska football set to face No. 15 Utah in Las Vegas Bowl

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Huskers are heading to Sin City to play Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

This will be Nebraska’s second-consecutive bowl appearance, after the team defeated Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl last year.

Nebraska will enter the matchup with a 7-5 regular season record, marking the fourth straight year the Huskers have improved their regular-season win total.

Utah comes into this game with a 10-2 record.

History is on the Huskers’ side with this contest. Nebraska is 4-0 vs. Utah all time. They are also 3-0 all time on New Years’ Eve.

Head Coach Matt Rhule released a statement on the news; “The Las Vegas Bowl gives our football team the opportunity to visit a great city and compete in one of the nation’s best venues against an elite opponent,”

The game will be played at Allegiant Stadium and televised on ESPN at 2:30 P.M. Central Time.
