Wahoo dominates Ashland-Greenwood, advances to third straight Class C1 title game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —It was a big Warrior win Friday night, as Wahoo defeated Ashland-Greenwood 61-21 to continue their undefeated season.

Ashland-Greenwood fell to Wahoo 35-0 in week two for their only loss of the season. But on the opening drive, they made a statement.

The Blue Jays chewed up a five-minute first drive that ended with a Cael Smith rushing touchdown. It was the Blue Jays’ first lead against the Warriors all season.

But, Wahoo quickly responded with a goal-line score from their lead running back, Kip Brigham. Then, after a quick defensive stop for the Warriors, Brigham attacked again, scoring an 80-yard rushing touchdown.

Wahoo went on to win big 61-21, remaining unbeaten on the year (12-0). The Warriors have now won 25 straight games and will look to complete back-to-back state championships.

The Warriors will face off vs. the Sidney Red Raiders at Memorial Stadium on Nov 25 at 10:15 a.m.
