LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A wanted man was caught Wednesday morning after a chase in Lincoln, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 7:30 a.m., the Fugitive Task Force spotted 37-year-old Leondris Wallace, who was wanted on a felony arrest warrant, near 23rd and A streets.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said authorities approached Wallace, and he ran away.  The task force members eventually caught up and took him into custody.

During a search, authorities found Wallace had 3.3 grams of meth, 3.3 grams of marijuana, eight amphetamine pills and 14 other stimulant pills.

He also had a stolen handgun in his backpack, according to Houchin.

Wallace was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and obstructing a peace officer.
