Wanted man hid in Lincoln home after being caught with stolen SUV, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he broke into a northeast Lincoln home, police say.

Around 2 a.m., officers were sent to a home near 51st and Adams streets on a report of three people fighting in the front yard.

When officers arrived, they saw a Hyundai Santa Fe – which was reported stolen on Nov. 18 – driving down the alley.

Brian Ising, 42, got out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby home, police said.

The home’s residents came out and said Ising went down to the basement.

Officers found Ising, who was wanted on two active warrants, in a utility room.  He told officers he was armed with a knife, police said.

Officers used pepper spray and a police dog to take Ising into custody.

After being released from the hospital, he was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including theft by receiving stolen property.
