Wanted man stole irrigation pivot wire in rural York County, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A wanted man was caught Friday after stealing irrigation pivot wire in rural York County, the sheriff’s office says.

Around 9:45 p.m., a deputy pulled over a “suspicious” vehicle on a county road southwest of York for a traffic violation, authorities said.

The deputy learned that the driver—36-year-old Brian Schall of Council Bluffs, Iowa—had a full extradition warrant from Iowa.

During a search of the vehicle, the deputy discovered “several” sections of partially burnt irrigation pivot wire.

The sheriff’s office said Schall had stolen the pivot wire.

He was arrested on suspicion of theft, speeding, no proof of insurance and no valid registration.

The sheriff’s office noted that many farmers in York County have been victims of pivot wire thefts over the past several weeks.
