Warm again Tuesday; storms likely into this weekend

Not seeing a whole lot Tuesday morning, but we weren’t expecting a whole lot. Very spotty showers to our south and east to start, but with south winds continually supporting more moisture in the area, we’ve got just enough forcing to see this for the next few hours and again early Wednesday.

Starting off about 15-25° warmer than Monday, we should have another shot at 90° for the second time this week. Winds should be a bit lighter today.

Day Planner Pivot

Here’s a look at one of the models showing that most people will miss out on Wednesday morning’s spot chance, too. Another shortwave in the mid-levels of the atmosphere comes through for this chance, and then that’s about it. We should clear out for most of Wednesday. Cooler by then, too.

Jessica Stormcast

By Thursday, parts of Nebraska will have a better chance at seeing some rain. Especially toward the end of the week, storms look likely across eastern Nebraska, and it’s something we’re keeping a close eye on. Keep back with us as we get more details in the coming days.

Precip Chances

The latest from the Storm Prediction Center has much of central Nebraska in a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for Thursday. Isolated severe storms are possible especially in this area, as a coming system develops out west. This system will slowly move eastward to present more severe weather considerations for eastern Nebraska Friday and Saturday.

Marg Thurs

This system will slowly move eastward to present more severe weather considerations for eastern Nebraska Friday and Saturday. Below is the outlook that says it’s possible eastern Nebraska sees severe storms on Friday, with more details and refinements to be made as we get closer to the event.

Friday Risk

That possibility shifts east for Saturday, with Lincoln and southeast Nebraska still included. Again, a lot to figure out between now and then. Just a heads up for now.

Sat Risk

Temperatures will “fall” just in time for the start of fall on Saturday, too! Tuesday’s warm morning and afternoon should be one of the last for a while.
